My 18-200mm vr lens won’t autofocus, a new experience for me. I think this is my first genuine equipment failure. I’m almost excited to send it off and have it adjusted, mainly so I can sell it with the “just back from Nikon” label.

Ian is hard of hearing and we’re between hearing aids. How’s a kid to learn to talk? Well I’m an active audiobook listener and have an iPod around…
So far he’s gotten through about 6 hours of Lord of the Rings.

I’m in process clearing out my garage/basement/laundry room/closets. But I live in modern liberal California. So even your household trash becomes cumbersome. Bateries are now toxic waste, and have to be recycled. But the recycling service you already pay for won’t touch them. And light bulbs. California power companies encourage you to use CF bulbs. [...]

Just finished No Country for Old Men. It felt like reading Fargo. I can’t say I enjoyed it very much.
