Now about halfway into “I Am Legend,” which feels like a short story and up to this point is more a fun book than a thinking book. I haven’t seen the movie, but I thought it was an interesting enough premise to justify the short-ish audiobook. Not so sure on the narrator, he seems to be trying too hard to get into it.

I finished the book. I mentioned this to a friend at work who had seen the movie and not the book. His question was whether the hero survives “the explosion.” Me: “What explosion?”
From the conversation that followed, the differences are quite huge apparently. I didn’t mind the ending of the book, in fact I thought it was quite fun, even for being a tragedy. But it appears the movie is “loosely based on the book by the same name.”
